Hardcore Computer is a manufacturer of high-end custom computers. Their latest offering is the Reactor model. The system boasts the current most powerful components, including a Core 2 Extreme processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, up to three GeFoce GTX 280 GPUs, Creative Labs X-Fi audio, Wi-Fi antenna options, CMOS battery and BIOS reset switches, and much more. However, what makes this system stand out the most from other custom computer options is the fact that all the heat-producing hardware components are completely immersed in a custom dielectric fluid (Core Coolant). Similar in concept to the fish tank PC touted by Puget Custom Computers, the Reactor indeed houses the CPU, motherboard, video card, memory, and power supplies with the actual fluid. The Hardcore Reactor approach is more advanced, long-lasting, and available to the general public. Hardcore Computer claims this patented technique results in 10x the heat dispensation of the best water or air cooling solutions on the market. Pricing for the Hardcore Reactor starts at $4,500, with components being fully customizable.

Here at Gadget Advisor, we are big fans of the classic Nintendo games, such as Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy, and Super Mario Bros series. When you have played a certain gaming console more than any other, you get used to its controller. For those most comfortable with the classic NES controller, the Compwnent USB Nintendo NES Controller is ideal for PC game-play. We have used a similar solution from another company, but sadly, the controller developed a problem over time, and by then the company who sold it was no longer offering them. Therefore, it’s great to see a new option for NES USB controllers. The controllers are not being mass produced, though. So, act fast. As of now, the the NES controllers can be purchased for $33.

The ASUS G71 notebook was designed specifically for the gaming market. The machine emphasizes audio quality and video performance to offer a complete gaming experience. Features include an Intel Core 2 Extreme processor QX9300 (quad-core), DDR3 RAM, dedicated NVIDIA graphics, and a Blu-ray optical drive. The ASUS G71 offers three different processor speed options via the Direct Console 2.0 overclocking and configuration software. Gaming hotkeys are also provided that can be configured to launch a favorite game or execute in-game commands. Similar to the Dell XPS systems, the G71 also features a programmable lighting system that lights up and blinks during in-game events. The lighting options are configurable through the Direct Console 2.0 software. Pricing information has not yet been made available.

Nintendo DSi

Nintendo has officially announced an upgrade to the DS portable gaming console. It is called the DSi, maintaining the trademark double-screen (DS). The new unit features a larger 3.5" display, while becoming 12% thinner than the previous DS model. The DSi does not include a GBA cartridge port, which means the console can no longer play GameBoy and GameBoy Advance games. Otherwise, the DSi is extremely feature-packed, including cameras, paint software, advanced web browser, music playback, SD slot, internal storage, and more.

The DSi will launch on November 1st (Japan) with a cost of ¥189,000 (about $178 USD), which is in-line with the current DS model. Dates for International releases have not yet been announced.
