I'm right behind you, only need to beat Vik first, then I will check what's the options for me. On my run yesterday (after the xp-spot got changed), I still had the same options as DC. Maybe he changed the way out today.

EDIT:
Nope, nothing changed for me. Still have the same options as DC.

Are you playing on Myspace or Facebook?

Strange.

Did you ever use the way in and out as explained by DC?

If not, it's possible that one your blue flames in the flooded chambers are extinguished. You should check those.

If this is the first time that you cannot get out like that, I can only think of one reason: The game got updated during the last 13 hours, and I'm still playing the old version because didn't log out ever since.

I used Joseph's Falhill Dungeon guide. I have done everything in Falhill Dungeon. I know that there is something that I must have done differently in some way, at some time, so I get only 3 quest and trip options.

Which version are you playing? If I understand this thread correctly, the upstairs/downstairs "bug" only occurs on the MySpace version.

According to some FB posters, there is a way to solve the Fahill dungeon so that you never need to use a Blue Flame again. I spent two days trying and I couldn't find a way to solve it. So I've resorted to the suicide plan.

Jnaii, at FD7, I can go northeast to 6, or southeast to 9 (bridge to lift). I must be on not the same floor you are on.

If you are stuck there, try changing floors.

It wasn't that I was stuck there, but that the blue flames would go out if I used the stairs. I suicided out at the Fortrill.

This happened to me for the first time today (on the FB version). So apparently there is no difference between the MS and FB versions. Anyhow, it only happened to me after I suicided out and then returned, going straight across the bridge when I returned. Thus, I believe the trigger to this pathway lies in suiciding at least once. Note that I've killed Vikram 30 odd times before and never seen this...but I never availed myself of the suicide route until recently (stubbornness?).

However, there are those on the FB forum who claim that there is a way to solve the dungeon and keep the flames lit without suiciding. I doubt it, since I think I've tried everything. But maybe there's still one more HF mystery...

I suicided out once, and it is not my favorite method, but prior to that, I have never had the problems that some report. I have posted several times how I go in and out for a daily BullRug and Velkro kill. I don't know why so many have so much trouble.

Once you have picked up all the pieces in the far corners, a run into B&V takes maybe 3 Lava Crossed, 2-3 Torch Lit, 1 Door thing if you want to go to Inlet Cove, NEVER ANY STAIRS. I have not climbed a stair since I got the corner goodies. I never kill myself. I never have any problems.

ONCE, I got all the gryphi, all the blue flames, lit all the blue-flame-required torches, and I have NEVER GONE BACK FOR A GRYPHON OR BLUE FLAME SINCE. I have never had to relight a blue thing, so it is NOT a myth. I do this every day, hit the big boys and leave.

Me too. That's the way I do it also.

I did the suicide out with Fortrill the other day, and I now have these options at FD7 when I'm heading out. It must have set something so I get all four options now.

I agree, Randy, and have the same experience with not needing to use stairs as you do... except we differ on what we think the trigger may be.

Before I'd ever suicided out, I used an option from the third floor, to go Northwest, as if I was going over the bridge but the bridge was a floor down on the 2nd floor. I thought it was confusing, and it didn't make sense compared to my mind's image of the dungeon and its rooms, so I took it... it mentioned that I descended the lift and went across the bridge, in bold text. That trip is when it first put me inbetween floors so there were stairs up to floor two as well as down to floor one (as opposed to putting me on Floor 2 as the image below suggests). Ever since then I've had the option to not need to go up stairs, etc. directly.

So you and I are the in the same position now... the problem is the stairs still show. For you and I... no problem... but any newbie to Falhill is like to ascend stairs to the second floor, if they haven't read our posts, threads on the subject, or don't realize for themselves that the option to head over the bridge is waving at them at the Lava Hall from floor 1. Once they touch those stairs... they need another flame... hence why I wrote this thread.

The Northwest trip that I mention above was drawn back in 2008 (I believe), by Benoit Lavie (a Facebook player) as part of the first Falhill Map - which I immortalized in the Online Guide (and have now thanked Benoit personally for, and also asked him to confirm his permission - never heard back from him. Here is his map:

EDIT: Alrighty... so J'Naii's post basically says it is suicide which triggers the change... which is weird because I'm still pretty sure I had it before the suicide (though you have sewn the seed of doubt, I admit). I don't know if anyone recalls, but I was indignant that I wouldn't be suiciding to save a few stamina. That lasted a week...the straw that broke the camel's back being 15 attempts at Cross the Lava without a drop on the way out. Suddenly the few stamina I couldn't be bothered to save became in excess of 60. lol...wasn't funny at the time.

p.s. I think I may have said this before...but, dang I love these forums. Edit, re-edit, BBcode, embed images... woot.

*Editing out as not to pass bad info. It now seems that the route is still good, and that mine was just somehow suddenly reset.*
