I know I have...thus the reason I wrote this up. Please note that it may not be entirely complete as I didn't bother to go through all of Falhill or the dungeon again. However, *hopefully* will serve two purposes:

1) To help people distinguish between NECESSARY and UNNECESSARY items. Thereby preventing people from getting stuck permanently in one area.

AND

2) To help people organize their inventory especially with respect to upgrading their inventory. For example, if you now realize an item is not necessary to carry, you can easily sell it off thereby potentially increasing your attack rating.

Below are the areas...and legend:
*NECESSARY* = Cannot do without unless you want to get potentially stuck
*OPTIONAL* = You only need it if you want to farm a particular monster
*QUEST ONLY* = You only need this to complete a quest then you can get rid of it if you want to
*SPECIAL* = For blue octaves only, you need a minimum of 3 at all times on you for you to be able to go back through Oakwood Forest and hunt either for Forest Dragons or the Dreamcutter Dragon boss

Hi,

@Merlin:
Thanks, this is great!

Today, I have some advice for the cautious (like me ): stocking up on supplies by farming for them.

Once you have done Oakwood with Nic's lovely walkthrough (look here), it may be worth your while to return to Oakwood to farm Green Elixirs from Rimi (2 stam vs. cost in the store: 500 gold).
I walked out of that place with approx. 240 Green Elixirs. Now I know what I need the pack mules for.

Then you can fight the Dreamcutter Dragons (again? 24 hour boss), and "march to the road split".

Pick up your stuff from Sgt Renald, flatten the skeletons in Kyndale (earns gold), and walk into Kalamar, farming dumplings in the cafe in Kalamar townhouses (4 stam + 100 g vs. 500 g in the store). I walked out of that place with approx 55 dumplings (carried by my pack mules, I suppose ).

If you farm for the supplies, you can use your gold stocking up on the best armor and weapons in the store in Kalamar market. (and you're going to need them ....) I always buy the best stuff the first time around, and when I come back there later to buy more, I compare value and att/def.

With these "homemaker tactics" (always keep enough food and drink in the house ), I was able to beat Amrit Armored, the Summoned Dragon, and Amrit Revealed the first time (Yippie!!!! ) without having to worry about supplies getting low.

With these b***, you need to keep munching dumplings and drinking elixirs like it was going out of style - and don't let your health get low! (Thanks for the good advice about keeping health up, which I read here in this forum! *hugs*).

And once you have beaten Amrit Revealed and feel all high and mighty - the game takes you on a quest where you have to talk to - and then fight - Vikram! I was scared sh**less!

But no, this is not the Vikram fight that all the experienced players are talking about, but if you are short on supplies then, he will definitely kick your butt.

So, to make a long story short:
I have found that it is a great idea to keep my traveling party well supplied with food and drink, which I can farm for. After all, who wants to fight on an empty stomach?

Best regards
Anja

/edit:

Once you are in Kalamar, it is a good idea to purchase Lotus Petals (20 energy) and bread (50 health).
This stuff comes cheap and enables you to upgrade your health / energy to full levels between fights without wasting any health / energy points. As an addition - 20 more energy here, 50 more health there...
Lotus petals: Kalamar Store, bread: Kalamar Townhouses store.

Can I still go back to Lindellin and do that quest where you picked up 54k. I'm at lvl 87 now, but 54k is 54k! lol.

Hey, those cheap red elixirs may come in handy! I just spent 150 bucks and got 4 of em!
Hmmmmm, lemme see. I just spent 150 bucks and 3 stamina for 4 elixirs. If I sell those 4 elixirs back, I'll make 1084 bucks. That's 934 bucks profit every time I click the button! I can see that I'm going to be in this spot for a while.

At times there seems to be a bit of confusion over the basic progression through the game. (likely due to some locations being visited more than once). This is a very, very basic sequence of movement between the various locations on the map.

If you cannot yet go to the next location, there is some prerequisite that has yet to be completed. Often the new Quest/Monster/Trip that is missed is one that is quite similar to one which has been done, yet is a unique item to be completed.

Sumervale
Boar Island
Chandabrook
Throncrest/Granitewood
Avgard
Lindellin
Tarnwood
Guldin Falls - 1st time
(cannot go North yet)
Thistledown
Styrewood Camp
Alton by the Sea
Meadowbrook
Kalamar - 1st time
(cannot do Catacombs yet)
Kyndale
Mistyvale
Altin
Oakwood
Guldin Falls
(if prerequisites are complete, you can go North to Amrit's Tower now)
(there is NO bridge to acquire at this time - you will have to GO AROUND THE FALLEN BRIDGE)
Ward/Ingledye
Kalamar
(if prerequisites are complete, you can do Catacombs now)
Falhill
Barrenhoff
Sulindal

Great info, J'naii. Thank you for posting it. I think that will be very handy for players new to the game.

I know that I've been a bit confused as to where I should head next at certain points in the game. I've noticed that many questions arise from where to go next, and why can't they go to a certain place at a given location which cannot be accessed until a second visit to that location.

Default I'm stuck

As a newby I'm wandering wherever I can go and per the advice am collecting as much stuff in multiples as I can. I have not been able to beat the cavetrolls lair monster or the darkfangs lair monster (still working on collecting health etc.) I want to investigate the Chandabrook bridge but can't go north of the village. I was told beating one of the spiders would open the avenue north but I have fought them lots of times and nothing happens. Am I missing something?
