...and then there's which blue flames to light to get the bridge to lower in the second floor of the Falhill volcano. I'm not sure at all. I thought they all needed to be lit...then I found I had no bridge on either side, and I just kept blowing them out one at a time and checking them both until I finally got one again. Not fun. Well, at least I didn't hafta mess around with getting even more Griffins and Blue Flames to put 'em out. ;o)

Just want to add that the Palace Maze Solutions, the first,
N, W, N, W, N - Solution for Princess' Court
The other two, N, W, N, E, (N & S) each yield a Guard Distraction.
You will have at least one from Ethina in Mistyvale Marina, and can get the other two you'll need for the Princess' Court from here.
Bear in mind the action Princess' Court consumes these Guard Distractions, so for the rest of the game you'll need one more, which you can get from Ethina by bringing her another Hydra Egg. This last one is so you can travel from Mistyvale Marina to Mistyvale (Need Guard Distraction x1)

When I went through falhill I just lit all of the flames. Seemed to work for me.

Thank You!
Though I still made some irritating mistakes due to me rushing through (I didn't realize that the directions switched up their positions each time), I managed to make it through with little problems! I found both of the treasure chests too!
I am thinking in hind-sight whether or not it was more of a waste of stamina to complete the mazes (mistakes included) or just go back to Mistyvale and get the other 2 guard distractions that way....Wait, is that even an option?

I had 1 guard distraction when I was in the maze. I didn't find the other two chests but I knew where I got my first guard distraction... I exchanged a Hydra Egg that I got from the Hydra in Farrain Sea just off the Mistyvale Marina, with the girl at the Mistyvale Marina... so I just went back out to sea, picked up two more Hydra Eggs and exchanged them.
obviously it would've been quicker to know about the chests... if you don't... I expect it would still be quicker and take less stamina to find the chests... but I don't have any qualms with the way I did it. The hydra was weak enough where it wasn't an issue.

That's how I did it my first time, as I didn't even know there was a solution to the maze for guard distractions. I think getting them through the maze is an easier and more efficient way, although I have absolutely no empirical evidence to suggest such a thing, only a notion.

After consuming the 3 guard distractions, doing the whole princess thing, I got another guard distraction later for another go-round, and... that one is still in my Keys. It is never consumed. I can go by there any time I want now.

Yes, you need four in total for the long run. The first three are consumed by the Princess Serene quest in the maze. Can't think of the exact name and I don't have my notes open, but the travel one necessary for going from Mistyvale Marina to Mistyvale is just required, not consumed. So no need for more than 4.

I went N W N W N.. found the court.
So, I went N W N E... upon going E it said, I've reached a dead end and have to start over. (out of stamina now, so will have to wait to finish)
wiki says:
1st: Head North
2nd: Head West
3rd: Head North
4th: Head West
5th: Head South -> Treasure Chest -> Guard Distraction
5th: Head West -> Treasure Chest -> Guard Distraction
5th: Head North -> Princess Serene
Did I do something wrong or should I have gone with the wiki?

Take a piece of paper and a pen(cil). ALL chases leave clues that indicate whether you are hot or cold.
If hot, your first move is correct. Test each move and sequence until you get it. Pay attention to the game's response for each move.

When my brother did this maze, I told him the sequence, but when he did it, he found the princess, then got one guard distraction (he got two previously from the Sea Hydra) from a treasure chest...but then all the quests said quest completed. The final chest never appeared at all, and he never had to enter the final five steps of the maze. It's not important anyway, though, since the Sea Hydra (one step north) drops them.

I had great drop rates going through here. So I just got the eggs and exchanged them. I fought 4 times and got 4 eggs. But the drop rate is only 60% or so ...so it could cost you A LOT of stamina.
